Lake flies swarm the Lake Winnebago shoreline in Calumet County

STOCKBRIDGE, Wis. (WLUK) — It’s that time of year again. Lake flies have started to invade Lake Winnebago. The buzzing has begun, and the skies are full of the tiny insects. From parking lot posts, to the fishing area nearby, lake flies coated Stockbridge Harbor County Park Tuesday morning. Not far away at Harbor Bar and Grill, Gerald “Bud” Nackers was trying to do some yard work. “I decided to cut lawn this morning. It’s entertaining to a degree, my lawn mower is covered in bugs of course.
